On Wednesday, Feb. 1 at approximately 3:05 p.m., a Secondary School Student saw what appeared to be a single .22 rimfire round on a sidewalk outside the building.

The student immediately notified school administration, who then retrieved the round.

The school district is investigating, but there is no indication that the finding of the ammunition is related to any threat to the district.

Families should remember that while some items may be legal to possess off-campus, it is extremely important that they not be brought to school, even by mistake. If a student or anyone in the school community has recently handled such items, they should remember to check pockets or bags before coming to school.

We applaud the student who noticed the round for immediately contacting the Secondary School office.
