Students stand on Step

Well, it was a quick but successful trip to Buffalo and back!

 Thursday, May 18

The Farm Business Management team (Pyper Kneale, Will Rumovicz, Owen Hill, and Nate Rumovicz with Coach Kristin Rumovicz placed 3rd in the state and Pyper finish 5th place as an individual! This was UVFFA's first time competing in this career development event! 

 Emily Vatovec sang in the state talent contest in front of a packed house and did an amazing job!

 Emily DeFrank, Sarina Bell, and Adrienne Hodge met with National FFA representatives and other FFA members from across the state to discuss inclusion and acceptance and learned some great skills to bring back to our FFA chapter.

 Friday, May 19

Senior Quiz Bowl team Pyper Kneale, Owen Hill, Nate Rumovicz, and Adrienne Hodge with Coach Nadine Kneale made it to the quarterfinals of competition!

 Will Rumovicz place 2nd in the state for Dairy Production - Placement Proficiency, while Emily DeFrank placed 2nd in the State for Poultry Production Proficiency!

 Delegates Ryley Warren, Emily DeFrank, Sarina Bell, and Emily Vatovec met in delegate meetings in the morning and then voted on constitutional changes and additions during the afternoon business session. One of the constitutional changes that passed will now make 6th grade students full National FFA members, if passed by the national delegates in November at National FFA Convention.

 For fun night, the UVFFA members had the opportunity to attend a Buffalo Bisons Triple A baseball game against the Rochester Red Wings.

 Saturday, May 20

Pyper Kneale and Will Rumovicz were awarded the New York State FFA Empire Degree, the highest degree a member can earn! Only 1% of all New York State FFA members earn this degree!

 While not in sessions, students also attended workshops and met agriculture students from across the state. A good time was had by all, and everyone did an amazing job!!!
