The weekend of April 28-30 Wyatt Meade participated in 2023 Royal Rumble
in Virginia. Wyatt competed in the youth HC team sorting and penning
event.
Team penning is a western equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. Ranch sorting requires that two or more riders move a herd of ten cattle in numerical order from one round pen into a separate adjoining pen in sixty seconds or less. During this event 3 people are assigned to a team and compete against 24 other teams from across the country. Wyatt placed first with the highest point total for all youth!
