Two students are seen

Unadilla Valley Central School District is proud to announce that Pyper Kneale is this year’s valedictorian. Trent Marinelli is this year’s salutatorian.

Pyper is the daughter of Nadine and Tim Kneale. She has attended UV for 13 years.

What activities were you involved with in school? I was involved in FFA, Soccer, softball, basketball, bowling, Drama Club, and the National Honor Society and Jr. National Honor Society.

Do you have any activities outside of school and, if so, what are they? Outside of school I have done a travel bowling league for 2 years. I have worked at Service Pharmacy in New Berlin for 2 1/2 years. I am still currently employed there, I have worked at UV over the summer after my junior year, and I have also worked at Hunts Pond Farm the summer after my freshman year.

What are your plans for after graduation? After graduation I plan on attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville,Texas. I am going for Marketing with a minor in Agri Business.

What will you miss most about Unadilla Valley? I am going to miss the Learning Center the most. Those rooms have given me a place to work my hardest and create the best memories with the ones I love most. It is the mentally safest and comforting place in the entire school. The Learning Center has always been my home away from home.

Do you have any advice for this year’s kindergarteners? Live your life one step at a time, there is no point in rushing to grow up because one day you will want to be in kindergarten again.

Trent is the son of Erin and Chris Marinelli. He has attended UV since pre-K.

What activities were you involved with in school? I am a three-sport athlete, with baseball, soccer, and basketball. I also have been part of the National Honor Society since my sophomore year.

Do you have any activities outside of school and, if so, what are they? I have been playing travel baseball since the summer before my sophomore year, so going on 4 years counting this upcoming summer. I have played travel soccer for the last few years, mainly with the Chenango Chargers in Oxford. This spring I will be playing for UVFC here at UV.

What are your plans for after graduation? I plan on going to Utica college, right now to get a degree in Physical Therapy. I want  to walk on to a college sports team as well, either for baseball or soccer.

What will you miss most about Unadilla Valley? I will miss playing high school sports once I graduate. For me, I don't think anything will ever replace the experiences that they have given me. When I look back on high school, I will always remember the achievements, memories, and people that sports allowed me to encounter.

Do you have any advice for this year’s kindergarteners? Never put in anything less than your best effort, no matter what you are doing.
