Unadilla Valley Central School had guests from the West Coast on Friday as students heard character building and motivational tips.
Ashlee Polarek and Victoria Rosales of Camfel Productions presented to UV students in two assemblies, each aimed at age-appropriate messages.
“For the younger ones, it was all about the ‘Golden Rule,’” said Rosales, who ran the session for kindergarten through fifth grade students.
Rosales said the session explores the simple – yet important – idea of just being nice to one another.
The sessions, are designed to be upbeat. For the younger students, interactive participation is encouraged.
“We love it when the kids dance and clap and sing along,” Rosales said.
The session for the older students, Polarek said, was focused on respecting yourself and others.
The two young women from California are recent college graduates who are touring the country with Camfel Productions to help motivate and inspire kindergarten through grade 12 students.
The event was coordinated by student counselors Stephanie Cooke and Sheri Houck and is part of Unadilla Valley’s comprehensive approach toward character building and inspiring students to be their best.
