UV to go to remote learning on Wednesday, Nov. 18
Unadilla Valley CSD will move to remote learning for all students on Wednesday, Nov. 18. This move was prompted because the district was notified late Tuesday night of a positive COVID-19 test result for an individual in the Secondary School.

Because this notice came late in the evening, contact tracing by the Chenango County Department of Health has not been completed. In the interest of safety for all in our UV school community, remote learning will take place for all students in the Elementary and Secondary School on Wednesday. More information will be released by the district as it becomes known during the day Wednesday.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

A COVID screening is done for all students and staff members prior to the start of the school day and this will continue for all in-person learning when it resumes. Parents and staff are asked to complete the form at home before they come to school. We check all responses every morning and re-screen temperatures for all students and staff upon arrival. We select random students to screen throughout the day. Your cooperation with this screening and with our COVID mitigation policies has been greatly appreciated and has helped lead to a safer school environment.

Our Reopening Plan is designed to reduce risk. We cannot eliminate all risk, especially outside of our school building. Please remember that for Thanksgiving Week, there will no in-person or remote classes. For the following week, the district is going to all-remote learning due to the expectation that some staff members and families may travel or attend holiday gatherings.

Any additional questions, including information about testing procedures, can be directed to the Chenango County Health Department at (607) 337-1660.
