UV Board Sets Budget Hearing; Absentee Ballot Information
On Tuesday, May 17, Unadilla Valley Central School District residents will vote on a proposed $19.1 million budget for the 2016-17 school year.
The fiscal plan has a tax levy increase of 1.54 percent, which meets the state-mandated tax levy limit, and reflects a spending increase of $474,487, or 2.55 percent.
A 3.63 percent increase in state aid over the current year will allow the district to continue all academic programming, extracurricular activities and athletics, without any staffing-level changes. The proposed budget also aligns with Unadilla Valley’s goal in recent years of reducing reliance on reserves, something that district officials say is good for long-term financial health.

A budget hearing is slated for immediately after the board of education meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, May 9.
