Chobani representatives hold cooking demonstrations for UV elementary students
For two days in mid-October, representatives from Chobani visited students at Unadilla Valley Elementary School and held cooking demonstrations utilizing the company’s yogurt.

The team from Chobani presented some students with aprons and tubes of yogurt, held cooking demonstrations at Morning Program, and provided hands-on cooking experiences for students in grades 3-5.

“Chobani has done a wonderful job in sharing how to use their yogurt, and shared many recipes with the students,” said Principal Chris Harper.

“It was very educational and the students really enjoyed it. The representatives from Chobani brought kid-friendly tubes (of yogurt) like ‘jammin strawberry.”

Cassandra Treen, manager of local events at Chobani, said she had such a wonderful time working with the students, and wanted to provide a fun, hands-on cooking experience that would provide students with some very basic cooking skills.

“Our goal was to show them that not only is cooking fun, but it can be healthy at the same time. By adding Chobani and fresh ingredients to some of their favorite recipes, not only do they taste delicious, but they are good for them as well,” she said.

“With the 3-5 graders, we made mixed berry smoothies and a honey mustard dip served with soft pretzels. Each student received their very own apron and recipe cards so they could recreate the recipes at home with their families.

“We wanted to do something special for the pre-k through the second graders as well, so they each received an apron and Chobani tubes to enjoy as a snack in their classrooms.”
