- Proof that your child has been tested for lead poisoning
- A copy of your child’s immunization record
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate
- Proof that your child has received or will receive a current physical by the onset of the upcoming school year
The Families into Literacy and Learning Succeed (FILLS) program serves children 0-3 years of age.
Apply for FILLS: Unadilla Valley FILLS Application
FILLS runs from October through May in the kindergarten/pre-kindergarten wing at the Unadilla Valley Elementary School.
FILLS classes typically meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday following the UV District calendar. If Unadilla Valley is delayed or closed, FILLS does not have class.
FILLS is self-transport. An adult parent, family member, or caregiver must accompany children and participate in the program. All children ages 0-3 may attend, including siblings and other day-care participants.
FILLS promotes intergenerational interaction and learning. Participating children and their adult partners work together on activities that encourage foundational literacy skills through stories, play, crafts, music, and movement. Speech, occupational, and physical therapists co-plan student activities, and participating families may access the school based health clinic, when registered.
Daily snacks are provided to FILLS participants by the school district. For birthdays and holidays, participant families may provide a special snack.
Depending on the number of children enrolled, three sessions may be offered: 8:30 to 10 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. to noon; and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
