A community forum is planned for Wednesday, April 21 as Unadilla Valley CSD reviews new state guidance on reopening schools that was released late Friday, April 9.
As you may have heard, some area school districts have been returning more students to in-person learning in recent weeks. However, the CDC director indicated on Monday, April 5, that young people involved in group activities are fueling a rise in COVID-19 cases across the nation. Now that New York State has released its guidance, Unadilla Valley is reviewing its Reopening Plan to see what might be possible in the remaining two months of the school year.
We need the input from our UV families to help us make the best decisions possible and ensure we keep the safety of our students, staff and community as the number one priority. The New York State guidance released on Friday requires all school districts that fully reopen under the new social distancing guidelines to also hold a community meeting.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 21. It will be held in-person with a health screening check at the District Office entrance. Please call Sharon White at (607) 847-7500, ext. 1134 to RSVP by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20. It will also be broadcast via Zoom.
