Guidance Department & UV Community Scholarship Fund Info

 
Unadilla Valley Central School has one elementary counselor and two middle/high school counselors. Elementary grades are PreK through 5, middle school grades 6 through 8 and high school grades 9 through 12. Students are assigned to a counselor depending on their grade level.

Scholarship Opportunities

Throughout the rest of the year there will be many scholarship opportunities for the seniors of Unadilla Valley Central School.  Information on these awards will be located in the Guidance Office, posted on multiple bulletin boards around the school,  sent to teachers that have seniors in classes, emailed to seniors on Fridays, and posted here.  Some scholarship applications can be accessed online, but many others are paper applications that can picked up in the MS/HS Guidance Office.  Information will include the award, eligibility requirements, and deadline for submission.  Last year we gave out over $80,000 at graduation!  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hodge or Mr. Ruffino in the Guidance Office at (607) 847-7500, Extension 1118.

National FFA Scholarship Program

Whether you are planning on attending a specialized training program or seeking a four-year degree, the National FFA Scholarship Program has opportunities for all.      
 
Preferred Foundation Irad and Jan Ingraham/Honeywell Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: February 26th 
Criteria:  Unadilla Valley High School Seniors who have a demonstrated record of strong community service and an average academic standing of 85 or above are eligible. 
 
Preferred Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: February 26th 
Criteria: Planning to attend accredited college /university in the fall following their high school graduation; and reside in NY Counties of Otsego, Delaware, or Chenango; and have a high school academic standing (GPA) of 95.0 or higher.     Or … Are the children of non-office Preferred Mutual employees, and have a high school academic standing of 95.0 or higher.  
 
Kutik’s Scholarship 
Deadline: March 1st
Criteria: High School Senior, residing within Chenango County; GPA of at least a 2.7; Pursuing a degree or career within agriculture; completed application form and essay. 

The Greta Godley Memorial Fund
Deadline: April 14, 2021
About:The current trustees of The Greta Godley Memorial Fund are Mary Godley and Heather Bayfield. The Greta Godley Memorial Fund was established in 2017 to take the place of the Betty Godley Memorial Fund which was establish in 1935 and terminated in 2016 at the death of Frederick Godley Jr. This fund is in memory of Frederick and Mary Godley’s daughter, Greta, and will be continued by Greta’s siblings. The fund is intended to assist a limited number of young people who need more money than scholarships are able to provide. In essence, this is a living memorial to Greta Godley. It was our hope that students who benefit from this fund will bring their skills back to the Morris, NY area.

2021 ASMC Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. 28
Criteria: The ASMC Scholarships are for students entering the fields of Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Economics. Please disseminate this information to interested students.

NY Farm Bureau Agricultural Youth Scholarship
Deadline: March 1, 2021












Registering a new student
 
To enroll your child in the district, please follow the following steps:

1. Pick up enrollment packet from the Secondary Guidance Office.

2. Take the forms home and fill them out completely.

3. You and your child will be given an appointment to meet with the assigned counselor to review the completed enrollment forms, required documents and any necessary student services to enroll your child.

Required Documents:
• Birth Certificate
• Immunization record
• Proof of address
• Custody/Guardianship records (if applicable)

Records Release



 

PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Access

PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Access is now available to the Parents and Guardians of students in grades 6 through 12.

Once configured, a Parent/Guardian login will provide access to information about sixth-grade through 12th-grade students in a family.

To add a student to your Parent/Guardian Access account, you must call the Guidance Office to request the Access ID and the Access Password. For confidentiality, the information will be sent to home with the student or by U.S. Mail. To reach the Guidance Office, call 607.847.7500, ext. 1118.
