Winter concerts feature a mix of traditional and contemporary tunes
The first of two winter concerts at Unadilla Valley takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 in the auditorium, and features both the middle and high school choruses and bands.

Students from the middle school will perform three pieces: Suncatcher, Aura Lea, and Terracotta. The high school students will play Treasure, Yorkshire Ballad, and An Overturn for Christmas.

“The community will get to see the students’ last three months of hard work,” said band director Greg Maistros. “They’re going to see a blend of traditional music and a little bit of contemporary music.”

At 7 p.m. on Dec. 18, elementary students will also perform a mix of tunes. For the first time, the show features a second and third grade chorus and they’ll perform Let it Snow, Winter Wonderland, and Let it Go (from Frozen).

Also, the fourth and fifth grade students will perform a piece that features kazoos.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
